Dokumentu galviņa

HTML lapas struktūras dalījums galviņa un pamatdaļa ir daļeji nosacīts. Lapa tiks parādīta un darbosies arī tad, ja šāda struktūra nav izveidota. Tomēr šādus „racionalizācijas priekšlikums” neatbalsta lapu indeksēšanas servisi (piemēram, meklētāji). Ja lapa tiek veidota ar vienkāršu teksta redaktoru, tad dokumenta galviņas iztrūkums padara lapu nepārskatāmu.

Vieglāk ir pateikt, kam noteikti nav jābūt HTML dokumenta galviņā, nekā to, kam tur būtu jābūt – tur nav jāatrodas lapas tekstam. Galviņu no no pārējā HTML dokumenta atdala ar <HEAD>..</HEAD> Vienkāršojot lapas uzbūvi var pat iztikt bez galviņas daļas. Jebkuru lapas galviņā iekļaujamo informāciju var (bet nevajadzētu) ievietot lapas pamatdaļā.
