Installing this Patch

Since this Patch replaces an ArcSDE 8.3 file, ArcSDE 8.3 must be installed before you can install this Patch. Before you start, make sure you have write access to the ArcSDE client installation directory.

  1. In the %SDEHOME%\lib folder (UNIX: $SDEHOME/lib), rename the following files:

    From: jsde83_sdk.jar
    To: jsde83_sdk.jar.orig

  2. Use WinZip to extract the file jsde83_sdk.jar from sde83-JavaAPI-Patch.zip and copy it to the appropriate folder/directory:

    (Windows: %SDEHOME%\lib folder)
    (UNIX: $SDEHOME/lib directory).

You're now ready to run ArcSDE.
