Define resolution and location of regular matrix maps

Description

The map legend is a three element vector that identifies the size of each matrix entry and the coordinates on the globe of the northwestern corner of the regular matrix map (i.e., the upper-left corner of the matrix). The three entries are given in degrees (regular matrix maps must be in degrees). The specific format of the structure is:

Examples

The topo workspace contains a map legend in the variable topolegend:

This map legend can be interpreted as:

   1.
Each matrix entry represents one degree of latitude and one degree of longitude.
   2.
The northern edge of the map is at 90°N (the North Pole).
   3.
The western edge of the map is at 0° (the Prime Meridian).
