To reduce transportation costs and allow earlier sorting and
processing of waste, there should be established a network
of reloading stations as independent objects of infrastructure.
They would also handle storage of hazardous household waste,
including household devices. The establishment of this network
of reloading stations must be co-ordinated with the relevant
local governments. Co-financing, which involves the resources
of local governments, too, could be the way to go in financing
the network.
The network of reloading stations might also be linked to
the new national programme "500 -" for the management of household
waste. If needed, specialised reloading stations can be set
up at specific objects - e.g., to collect bilge water and
other waste from ships in port and to engage in the initial
treatment of those substances.
