  B-VegAna : Biodiversity and Vegetation Analysis



    VegAna Desktop

The VegAna package is perhaps the most visible part of B-VegAna and
includes a full suite of applications permiting the user to create and
manage complex biological data: from cartographic maps to statistical
analysis of floristic relevés. The main components are:

  * "Yucca" is the GIS part of the suite, it allows the user to plot
    distributions over any kind of map.
  * "Fagus" provides an efficient method to enter floristic citations.
  * "Quercus" is oriented to the creation and management of relevés.
  * "Ginkgo" is able to apply several advanced multivariant analysis
    algorithms to the data.


    Requirements

All B-VegAna software is written in Java language, which enables it to
run on all platforms supporting a Java Virtual Machine (JVM). It is
mainly distributed in a web-based mode, in order to make bug corrections
and program actualizations in an easy, straightforward way. B-VegAna
uses Java Web Start technology which is pre-required for the use of the
B-VegAna software. Once you have Java Web Start installed, B-VegAna
programs can be started by just clicking on the link from your web
