Welcome to the ActivInspire repository information page for Linux. To ensure you have a great Linux experience with ActivInspire, we provide installation via your distribution’s package management system (eg via apt / synaptic on Ubuntu). By using your distribution’s native package management system, you benefit from automatic updates, automatic management of dependencies, and seamless integration with the rest of the system. Distribution Information The distributions we currently support for ActivInspire are: * Ubuntu 9.04 * Ubuntu 9.10 * Debian Repository Information Here is a list of the addresses of our repositories for each distribution: Ubuntu 9.04 deb http://activsoftware.co.uk/linux/repos/ubuntu jaunty oss non-oss Ubuntu 9.10 deb http://activsoftware.co.uk/linux/repos/ubuntu karmic oss non-oss Debian deb http://activsoftware.co.uk/linux/repos/debian lenny oss non-oss Our ubuntu repository is signed to guarantee the integrity of the software you downloaded. You must import the Promethean key into your system in order to install our software. Before you can install the updates, you will need to tell Ubuntu who Promethean is. This is done by downloading a file and adding it to the package management system configuration. You only need to do this once, and there are two ways to do it: Terminal method Type wget http://www.activsoftware.co.uk/linux/repos/Promethean.asc sudo apt-key add Promethean.asc If all goes well, the last line you see will be OK (Make sure you type the text as it is here, in particular the capital P in Promethean) Point and click GUI method Start your web browser Download the file http://www.activsoftware.co.uk/linux/repos/Promethean.asc (Right click on the link and select "Save Link As") Start Synaptic Package Manager In the menu, select Settings | Repositories Select the Authentication tab Click on Import Key File and load the Promethean.asc file you just downloaded. If all goes well, you will see the Promethean key in the list of Trusted Software Providers Video Instructions * Ubuntu – 9.04 * Ubuntu – 9.10 * Debian To ensure you get regular updates, we recommend the use of our repository to install Linux distributions of ActivInspire.
