A 6-camera multispectral system was flown on the Skylab spacecraft occupied by several crews between May 1973 and February 1974. The value of multispectral photography was quickly recognized by discipline scientists, particularly geologists, hydrologists, agronomists, foresters, and those concerned with environmental monitoring and land use/cover assessment.
